Intr-un triunghi ABC isoscel, cu AB = AC, notam BF si CE inaltimi si faci cu congruenta de triunghiuri in BFC si CEB: BC congruent cu BC (latura comuna), unghiul FCB congruent cu CBE (pentru ca sunt unghiurile alaturate bazei in triunghi isoscel), si sunt dreptunghice (in unghiurile CFB si CEB) => din cazul ipotenuza unghi ca triunghiurile BFC si CEB sunt congruente => BF si CE congruente
