Lies are the worst. Once someone is lied to, they can never trust again.
Why would one lie? Nobody should be afraid to say the truth. And definitely not want to say the truth. I get it that one might not want people to feel offended, but it's best they find a nice way to speak the truth.
I find it hard to trust after I'm lied to. I usually don't like liars, so when one of them comes into my life, I make sure to either stay away, or not trust them. You never know when a liar si actually lying or telling the truth.
I believe that a lie is the worst thing anyone could say, so please, always tell the truth, no matter how badly you think it's going to hurt.
