My favourite food is Polenta(mamaliga) because it is a traditional food specific of our country.Polenta is a dish prepared from flour of corn or mazie.Considered peasant food,is often used as a subtitude for bread or as a staple food during summer.Currently polenta and other dishes based on her became available in selected restaurants.Why Polenta is so popular in Moldova is that the Ottomans put taxes only on wheat,and maize reamains the most nutritious alternative.
I like it because i grew up with it.It is the best food of Moldova,my mom does mamaliga very good.I will never forget how to cook it,because is impossible to forget the taste of childhood.
