One of the most famous tourist regions in the Carpathian Mountains, the Prahova Valley is situated in the southeastern part of Romania, in the middle of Muntenia, in the upper and middle basin of the Prahova river and part of the Ialomita basin. It is bordered by Ialomita (in the south), Brasov (north), Dambovita (west), Buzau (east).
